In addressing the coronavirus, Congress must not exacerbate the climate crisis

Congress is rushing to spend hundreds of billions of dollars to bail out industries affected by the measures being taken to stem the spread and severity of the coronavirus. But in putting out one fire, our leaders must not pour gasoline on another -- namely, global warming. Taxpayer dollars should not be spent bailing out industries that are accelerating climate change. Any bailout funding must require industries to reduce their carbon emissions and other pollution.

Senators unveil broad, bipartisan effort to fully fund LWCF

12 Senators from across the country packed onto the stage of the Senate press room on Wednesday to announce the introduction of a bill that would fully and permanently fund the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) as well as address maintenance backlog issues at national parks. Senators traded opportunities to extol on the value of conservation, outdoor recreation, and the important role LWCF has played in supporting our public lands. 

The press conference followed recent statements from Leader McConnell as well as President Trump indicating they would support full and permanent funding for LWCF.
